 Sweet Six

A Six man rotation is under consideration for the Sox. Schilling is aging, and Daisuke Matsuzaka  thrives under 5 days rest… it seems smart for six men to split the role. THe proposed rotation is Beckett, Schilling, Matsuzaka, Wakefield, Lester, and the last position  is up for grabs but Clay Buchholz may win the job but Matt Clement is closing in…. that is if he even stays in Boston.

Free Agent Frenzy-

Of the 25 players on the Red Sox active roster at the end of the season, Mike Lowell, Brendan Donnelly, Mike Timlin, Royce Clayton, Eric Hinske, Matt Clement, Eric Gagne, Bobby Kielty, and Doug Mirabelli all have filed for free agency. Lowell and Timlin are at the top of the list to bring back. Timlin, a fan favorite and a veteran that anchors the bullpen has really no want to leave Boston, he’s just trying his luck on the market. Meanwhile Lowell, another fan favorite, is considered next to A-Rod the top free agent on the market.

Varitek Rock of Team?

Only Veteran Pitcher Tim Wakefield has had the honor of saying he is an active Red Sock that has been here longer than Varitek. After Pedro and Nixon and Nomar, Varitek remains. Even after Manny and Papi and Lord Beckett he will remain. Ht eleg he has up on Wakefield is that he has been a Red Sox his whole life as Wake started as a Pittsburgh Pirate. He also is the Team Captain and the emotianal leader of the team.
